While visiting the Republic of Croatia, foreign citizens must be in posession of a valid passport or any other valid identity document. Entrance and transit visas for the Republic of Croatia are issued in Croatian embassies and consulates as well as on Croatia's international border crossings.
Persons driving motor vehicles must have a valid driving and traffic permit, a green card as well as the vehicle's insurance certificate. In case the driver is not the vehicle's owner, they need to have a warrant of attorney for it.
As far as customs formalities are concerned, foreign citizens when entering the Republic of Croatia are allowed, apart from unlimited hand luggage, to carry in previously registered objects without any additional customs charges. These objects can be vessels, vessels' equipment, camping equipment as well as technical equipment. Pets are allowed to enter the country according to the regular procedure i.e. by showing the appropriate vaccination card as well as a veterinary examination card.
